Credits can make the spread work, but they also create timing and policy risk. EPA says RINs are the Renewable Fuel Standard compliance currency generated by renewable fuel producers and traded to obligated parties. Labor is not the biggest line, but it is too important to underpay. BLS reported May 2023 chemical plant and system operators at a national mean of $38.20 per hour and $79,450 per year.
